ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Board of Public Service has given its approval to move forward with a significant economic development initiative within the City of St. Louis. Located at the Armory complex, this undertaking encompasses a data center, fresh office space, and will strengthen the growing entrepreneurial community in Midtown St. Louis. The project is expected to generate $3 billion in regional investment, produce over $425 million in tax revenue, provide 1,000 construction positions, and establish 200 long-term employment opportunities.
Ron Kitchens, Managing Partner of Greater St. Louis, Inc., shared the following remarks following the Board of Public Service’s approval:
“This project’s substantial investment and employment opportunities will represent a major turning point for the City of St. Louis. We commend the Board of Public Service for authorizing this development.
“We recognize the thoughtful process the City of St. Louis has employed in moving this initiative forward. Through their support, an enhanced development strategy has emerged that will attract billions in private sector funding, hundreds of millions in additional tax income, and create numerous employment prospects.
“Economic growth in the City of St. Louis and the surrounding region requires investment in modern technology infrastructure to foster 21st Century industry expansion. The Board of Public Service’s endorsement of this development plan represents a meaningful advancement for regional prosperity.”
