Greater St. Louis, Inc. urges state House to back amended HB3231 to drive investment and revitalization of major vacant properties including AT&T and Railway Exchange buildings
ST. LOUIS – Greater St. Louis, Inc. praised the Missouri State Senate today for passing legislation to revitalize Downtown St. Louis and major business corridors throughout Missouri.
“Our mission centers on generating more and better job opportunities. To achieve growth and expand employment, our primary goal for this Missouri legislative session is establishing an office-to-residential conversion tax credit that will unlock hundreds of millions in new investment across Downtown St. Louis and Main Streets statewide,” said Ron Kitchens, Greater St. Louis, Inc. Managing Partner.
Over the past three years, Greater St. Louis, Inc. has championed state legislation designed to revitalize Downtown St. Louis and Main Streets across the region.
“For three years, we’ve pushed for legislation to tackle significant vacancies in Downtown St. Louis, particularly the AT&T and Railway Exchange Buildings. We’re pleased the Senate passed the bill and encourage Missouri House members to support this legislation so we can maintain momentum and send it to Governor Kehoe for approval.
“Communities throughout the state, including Downtown St. Louis, need this to become law.”
Greater St. Louis, Inc. has partnered with other important stakeholders to advocate for HB3231, which establishes an office-to-residential conversion tax credit initiative, along with additional incentives and mechanisms to encourage investment and accelerate redevelopment projects.
